Table Mountain offers incredible hikes in varying levels of difficulty. It is definitely one of the main Cape Town tourist attractions, and offers magnificent walks through afromontane forests.

Since Table Mountain is a National Park and Wilderness area you should never walk alone and you should always carry water, a cell phone and warm clothing with you, as the weather may change suddenly at the top. Take the same precautions as you would in any other outdoor environment; be sure to carry a map and be cautious on steep edges. Seek advice of a qualified mountain guide for walks higher up on the mountain.

Avoid brining any unnecessary valuables with you on your hike; rather leave them at home or in the hotel safe. Occasionally thieves target hikers, or their cars, although most car parks for Table Mountain walks have car guards on duty.
